Monday, October 31

Make sure to check your child's planner - it is chuck full of information today. Next week is the end of the marking period, so there are a lot of "loose ends" to tie up! I want to commend the students today for working so diligently and quietly this afternoon on their geography work. I was just pleased as punch as they got right to work and worked hard. Thank you students for all your cooperation today. You don't know how encouraging it is for a teacher when you are like that - keep it up! :) I also saw a lot of Jackie Robinson assignments in the arrivals today - I LOVE it - good job for working ahead and getting your work done early. Good habits to develop that will serve you well!

Here is a recap of our day:

Reading - In the Year of the Boar and Jackie Robinson due 11/1. We read pages 162-163 in class and completed workbook page 61 in class.

Math - L 33 due 11/1 and quiz on 11/4

Writing - In the Year of the Boar and Jackie Robinson vocabulary and questions due 11/1. Vocabulary p. 62 due 11/1

Spelling - pretest today in class. Copy each word you got wrong three times. Test 11/4. The spelling words are challenging this week, so I've "assigned" the students words 1-5 tonight to study and memorize. This will help them remember the words better.

Science - test on 11/8 (Tues) over chapter 1 pages 6-15 and 25-26. Students will get a study guide to review for the test

Social Studies - p. 7 map due 11/1. Open book quiz 11/2 and test 11/9 over chapters 1&2

Bible - I Corinthians 13:1-7 due 11/2

Don't forget Bake Sale on Wednesday - 6th grade is supplying the baked goods
